I’ve often referred to myself (and others) as a “true consultant.” When looking for talent to bring into the TiER1 family, we often look for people with a consulting mindset, and have discussed whether it can be learned or if it’s innate. But what does it really mean to be a true consultant, or have a consulting mindset? To me, true consultants share six key characteristics. A Gift of Service PROPS First of all, thank you Greg, Kevin, Norm and the Service Board at TiER1 for giving me paid time off to do something that I love. Service, in the form of sacrificial giving of both time and resources, is a core component of the DNA at TiER1. I would have easily taken PTO to serve, but what a blessing to me and my family to be paid to serve others. TiER1 really is a super-duper-alley-ooper place to work. WHAT? So I got paid time off to do what? Some people build houses for Habitat, others love on those ravaged by hurricanes, some serve the homeless, and others serve on boards...

We had a great night Monday at the Reds game! A group of us from TiER1 and some of our friends got together for a night of baseball, food, and good company. It was an exciting game with two home runs and a win!
